This dark leather tri-corner Cap adorned with a frilled tassel has been handed down the line of various prestigious magic schools and signifies the accomplishments of academic excellence. 

       Once attuned to a spellcaster*, the cap allows the user to cast a single spell of a higher tier but at a cost of extreme mental exhaustion. The player may cast any spell from his/her classes list even if it not known, but for every level of spell past your current means, you suffer a level of exhaustion. (Example: a 1st level wizard can use Fireball a 3rdlevel spell, but takes 2 levels of exhaustion) This can be used once per day

        A second ability of the cap allows the player to cast any appropriate spell* at one slot level higher once per day, even if you don’t have an available slot. So you could use the “Cause Fear” a 1st level spell at lv 2 for free once per day
